Prasat Phum Pon It is assumed that it is derived from the Khmer name which "Phum" means land or place, and "Poon" which is pronounced as "Pon" means "to hide", collectively means "hiding place"; associated with the local tales in respect of this castle. The tale is “Niang Dao Thom” means big-breasted lady, who is said to be the daughter of the king, but she was brought to live in this city to escape the war. Prasat Phum Phon, Tambon Dom, Sangkha District, Surin Province: It is a Hindu temple constructed in the 12th-13th Buddhist century, it is one of the oldest Khmer art religious places found in Thailand. Prasat Phum Phon consists of 4 buildings arranged in a north-south direction. The building that has perfect condition is a large brick castle. It is an important evidence of the early construction of the former Capital city as well. The brick building on the side: Only the base and door frame were left, and there is another brick building, about 30 meters to the north, which is in dilapidated condition. One lintel was found with carved pattern in the Khmer art style of the Praikamong period; it is currently kept at Phimai National Museum, Nakhon Ratchasima Province There is also another base built with laterite. It is assumed to be the base of the hall building. The roof is a large castle in perfect condition, made of bricks without mortar in the old Khmer art style. This may be compared to the castles of the pre-Capital city, which is assumed to be a place of worship in Hinduism or sectarianism because; the inscriptions were found in Sanskrit Pallawa characters which was used around the 12th-13th Buddhist century
